Rick Leach Memorial Scholarship Program

About Rick Leach

In November 2024, the ASCM community mourned the loss of an extraordinary leader and instructor, Rick Leach. A dedicated member of ASCM for over 40 years, Rick's unwavering commitment and visionary leadership left an indelible mark on the organization. Throughout his illustrious tenure, Rick served on local chapter boards, district staff, and ASCM executive committees, exemplifying a profound dedication to the ASCM mission.

Rick's leadership was most notably demonstrated during his tenure as President of the Northern Sierra Chapter, where his guidance was frequently sought during pivotal moments of transition. His legacy includes being one of the three founding members of the ASCM Sierra Pacific Chapter, established in 2021, where he championed the chapter model to ensure robust local instruction and mentoring support.

Rick's passion for professional development was evident through his extensive certifications, including CIRM, CPIM, and CSCP. A staunch advocate for the APICS Body of Knowledge, he continually updated his instructional credentials, shaping the careers of countless professionals. His impact extended beyond traditional settings; he delivered APICS Foundations of Operations Management (FOSCM) and CPIM courses to incarcerated individuals at the Nevada Department of Corrections facility near Reno, embodying the transformative power of education.
